D Land Fun

Ezekiel, Sarah and I went to Disneyland. It was pretty awesome. We all three rode the Finding Nemo ride together for the first time. I gotta admit i was excited. Also it was fun to experience it with them. Ezekiel's wide eyed expression in that picture says it all. So cool.

In lines we made the best of it and entertained ourselves and each other. I love these kids.

One thing about Disneyland that annoys me, we never get to meet the characters. Everytime they get swarmed and we get bumped. You really have to commit to wanting to have that picture op with them and then just be unapologetic about how you get it.

Happy Halloween

These are 3 of the 4 pumpkins that I carved this year. I really do love carving them. The harder the challenge the more accomplished it feels at this stage. My roomie flaked and didn't go get the candy so, sadly these cannot be displayed the way they should be. However they are being enjoyed in the backyard along with some music on vinyl.

The first one i did free hand. It's a goal of mine to someday carve my own ideas and make even cooler jack 0 lanterns. The other 2 pumpkins came with the carving kit that Roxana picked up for me. Did you know they have child safe pumpkin carving kits? Makes it just a little harder for grown ups but definitely would be perfect for letting the little ones try their hands at doing some of their own work.

And, as Halloween isn't over yet. I'm off the enjoy some spookier endeavors. Happy Halloween to all.

This is my favorite time of year

The weather outside is crisp.
It's the first real Fall day of the year! I really am excited. And it's not just because last week was a humid scorcher. This time of year reminds me of so many things and it makes me want to be outside cozy in a sweater and real shoes. Today is not for sandals. Hurray! It's time for closed toed shoes and maybe even boots! It won't last but it's much appreciated.

My new space

went nuts one day last week and moved around the furniture in my living room. i created 2 spaces. one for tv watching and one for reading, puzzling, and tv watching. it's interesting and everyone seems to like it. i especially like my nook. check it out.

featured here are 3 items i found at my local thrift stores. i will take better/ clearer pictures of those because you gotta see how cool they are. the top framed piece is a watercolor of a sunrise. it's kinda amazing. even the chair from the dining set i grew up with makes me smile in this picture.
